Nepal’s Strongest Weightlifting championship on August 13-14

Kathmandu District Weightlifting Association is organising the 3rd Nepal’s Strongest Sunil Lal Joshi Memorial Weightlifting Championships on August 13-14.
The annual event is organised in memory of former Nepali Olympian turned coach, who was also the vice-president of the association. Lifters of three departmental teams—Nepal Police, Army and Armed Police Force—as well as other lifters from districts and clubs will take part in the championships.
There will be 10 weight divisions each in senior men’s and women’s categories. There will also have 10 weight divisions each in boys’ and girls’ categories. One best lifter from men’s and women’s division will be crowned as Nepal’s Strongest. The Strongest will be awarded with Rs 11,000 each.
The estimated cost of the event is 1.29 million,informed the organisers on Thursday. The championships was originally scheduledfor August 9-10 but had to be postponed for technical reasons, informed theorganisers.Most Read from Sports
