Chitwan Tigers on Friday roped in County cricketer George Scott from Middlesex for this season of Everest Premier League Twenty20.
Scott’s recruitment now completes Tigers’ required number of foreign players having previously announced the signing of Ireland skipper Paul Stirling and another County player John Simpson of Lancashire. According to EPL regulations, each franchise needs to hire at least three foreigners in its squad.
Kathmandu Kings XI, Lalitpur Patriots, Biratnagar Warriors, Bhairahawa Gladiators and Pokhara Rhinos are the other five teams in the tournament.
Scott, who also had spells with Hertfordshire, is the least experienced player among the three foreign recruits. He has played 15 Twenty20s, five First-Class and two List A matches. Meanwhile, Tigers has selected five cricketers in the preliminary phase from its talent hunt programme. Aakash Thapa, Gautam KC, Abhinash Bashyal, Prashant Mahat and Sangharsha Poudel were picked up from the programme. The EPL regulation also obliges the franchises to include one local player from talent hunt programme.
