Nepali U-19 cricketer Bhim Sharki inked a three-year sponsorship deal with Red Rock Sports, an India cricket gears manufacturing company, in Kathmandu on Friday.
Sharki inked the contracts with the company in the presence of national team captain Paras Khadka and former South African allrounder Jonty Rhodes, who is currently in Nepal to oversee High Performance Camp for Nepali cricketers and officials. As per the deal, the company will provide Sharki all necessary cricket gears for the next three years.
Sharki represented Nepal in the Youth Asia Cup this year in September in Dhaka. He scored the most runs for Butwal Blasters in inaugural Pokhara Premier League last month and is set to play for Chitwan Tigers in Everest Premier League that kicks off on December 8 in Kirtipur. Former Ranji player Manish Shakalkar initiated in tying Sharki with the company.
“We ecstatic to help a young and promising to realise his potential and dream to represent senior national side in future. We, as company, always wish for the welfare of the players associated with us. We would like to express our gratitude towards Shakalkar for helping us recognise a future prospect of Nepal,” said Shubash Rajput, owner of Red Rock Sports, in a statement. “I am very happy with the sponsorship. It will help me motivate to fare even better in the days to come,” said Sharki. National team skipper Khadka said such sponsorships is always a welcome boost for players. “Hopefully, with new kit, new vision and new enterprise, Bhim (Sharki) is going to prosper in his career... Thanks to Manish and the whole team for making the deal possible,” said Khadka.
