Oyo roped in as hospitality partner

The city-based franchise Twenty20 competition begins from October 26 to November 6 in Pokhara with six teams vying for the title. According to the agreement, Oyo will provide sponsorship worth Rs 3.2 million for this season. Queen’s Managing Director Chhumbi Lama and Oyo Country Head Nishid Halani exchanged the memorandum of understanding.
Halani was excited to get associated with the tournament. “We are happy to partner with Pokhara Premier League. We are excited to extend our services,” said Halani. National team skipper Paras Khadka, a marquee player with Chitwan Rhinos, welcomed the Indian company. “We are happy to have you and we hope we can extend this partnership in near future as well,” said Khadka.
Oyo will provide lodging facilities to all the six franchise teams and members of the organising committee. Queen’s on Thursday had unveiled the six franchises in Kathmandu Royals, Pokhara Paltan, Rhinos, Biratnagar Titans, Dhangadhi Blues and Butwal Blasters. Sharad Vesawkar (Paltan), Dipendra Singh Airee (Blues), Sandeep Lamichhane (Titans), Gyanendra Malla (Royals) and Sompal Kami (Blasters) are five other marquee players of the tournament.
The auction for the PPL is scheduled for Sunday with a total of 179 players registering themselves. While the marquee players will not be kept in auction, other players will be auctioned under three different categories. The three categories included capped senior, capped age level and uncapped.
PPL is the third professional Twenty20 league of the country after Dhangadhi Premier League and Everest Premier League.
