Nepal’s hopes of making it to the 2021 Asia Cup Mid-Asia Qualifier ended on Thursday after the team crashed to third consecutive defeat in Saba Pre-Qualifier in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Following shocking defeats at the hands of minnows Bhutan and Maldives, Nepal could have got their ambitions back on track on Thursday but the team lost to Sri Lanka 70-57.
The result means Nepal are now at the bottom of the table and will not be able to get inside the top two that will send the teams in Mid-Asia Qualifier.
Ayush Singh top scored with 23 points for the Nepali team. Nepal will play their last match against hosts Bangladesh on Friday.
