Sandeep Lamichanne put on a brilliant performance for Delhi Daredevils claiming a wicket and giving just 25 runs from his four overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut. His side Delhi, however, lost the match against Bangalore by 5 wickets.

Lamichhane opened the bowling for his side defending the 181 runs total. He claimed the wicket of Parthiv Patel in the fourth ball of his second over trapping him leg before.

Delhi was in contention for the game before Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers took the game away from them.

Coach Ricky Ponting handed debut cap to the only Nepali player in the IPL prior to the match.

Lamichhane, 18, had spent previous 11 matches on the bench. With just three wins from 12 matches, his team Delhi lies at the bottom of the table with little chance of making into the play-offs.

Delhi had acquired Lamichhane for IRs 2 million during the auction in November.
