Eight karatekas – four male and female players each – were picked for 2019 Indonesia Asian Games through selection tournament on Saturday.
Among eight players, Nabin Rasaili of Kathmandu, selected in men’s 67kg, is the only non-departmental team player.
Parshuram Bastola of Tribhuvan Army Club was selected in men’s singles kata while Chanchala Dunwar of Nepal Police Club was picked in women’s singles kata. Sonam Lama (55kg) and Diwas Shrestha (below 84kg) of NPC were selected in men’s category while Anu Adhikari (50kg) of Nepal Armed Police Force Club, Sunita Maharja (61kg) of NPC and Rita Karki (above 68kg) of TAC were picked for women’s category.
