Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) entered the semi-finals of the Deepak Gupta Memorial Twenty20 cricket tournament with a crushing nine wicket victory over Birat Cricket Society on Wednesday.
Sagar Pun and Sompal Kami took three wickets each as Birat were dismissed for 39 runs in 12.2 overs. Man-of-the-match Pun was out for duck in TAC chase before skipper Binod Bhandari and Naresh Budhayer (14 not out) guided the team to 45-1 in 4.5 overs.
TAC are on top with four points from three games and even if third placed Sonnet Cricket Club of Kanpur win their last match against Birat with extremely huge margin, the Armymen will finish second in Group ‘B’. In another match APF beat Sonnet by five wickets.
