Coach Arun Kumar Aryal and former national team skipper Raju Khadka on Saturday were honoured by Dhangadi Cricket Academy (DCA) for their contribution to Nepali cricket. Dhangadi Premier League organisers DCA had said it would honour two individuals during the opening day of the tournament. While coach Aryal was feted with Arjun Khadka Memorial Honour, Khadka was given the Dhangadi Cricket Honour. The duo were feted with Rs 100,000 each.
The 59-year old Aryal spent his seven to eight years of playing carreer with Gairidhara Cricket Club as a swing bowler before joining Baluwatar Cricket Club. He worked as coach of the NSC for 25 years. Khadka, 41-year old, had led Nepal during the 2001 ICC Trophy. A member of the Nepal team for the 1996 ACC Trophy, he played for the senior side until 2004. (PR)
