“We will submit the request with signatures of at least 43 eligible voters out of the total 77 in the Anfa general assembly,” said Sherpa former vice-president who is contesting for the top post with Mani Kunwar. Despite Anfa decision to postpone the elections for the fourth time, AFC had directed Anfa to hold it on the scheduled date: March 28. Sherpa made such remarks after holding discussion with AFC representative Ravi Kumar on Tuesday. AFC representative Kumar is in Kathmandu to take stalks of the matter.
“We briefed him (Kumar) about the current scenario and told him that the central elections need to be held within the next two weeks. “We advised Kumar to come up with a clear roadmap calling in both the parties before going to elections,” said Sherpa. Kunwar has a strong backing from disgraced former Anfa president Ganesh Thapa, suspended for 10 years in 2016 on corruption charges. (PR)
