Karki eases to title triumph

Karki carded one-under 71 in the third round for a total of seven-under 209. With the victory, Karki received Phiten sports recovery products worth Rs 20,000.
Prithvi Malla shot two-under 70 on Friday for a total of two-over 218 to finish second on the count back. Overnight leader Tashi Tshiring, who shot a blistering nine-under 63 in the second round, had a terrible round of 12-over 84 on Friday for two-over 218 card.
He ended up in third on countback.
Sukra Bahadur Rai finished fourth with four-over 220 after shooting three-over 75. Wangchen Dhondup shot one-under 71 and ended up in fifth with a total score of five-over 221.
Subash Tamang was sixth and also winner of the age 16 & under in the tournament with the total score of nine-over 225. He carded six over 78 on Friday. Binod Tamang was second among the U-16 category with a total score of 15-over 231. On Thursday, Nepal A represented by Tanka Bahadur Karki and Sukra Bahadur Rai lifted the team event title with the score of 283.
On the sidelines of the tournament inter-club match was also played on Friday with Himalayan Golf Course golfers Ajit BK and Subash Tamang winning the event with the score of 78 stableford points. Md Shahabuddin and Md Sumon of Kuurmitola Golf Club of Bangladesh finished second with 75 points.
NGA President Tashi Ghale, Vice-president Tilak Rai, General Secretary CB Bhandari and NGA treasurer Kishan Agrawal among others gave away the prizes. In all 49 amateur golfers from Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh took part in the tournament. A total of 30 golfers made the cut for the final round.
