Sunsari XI struck two late goals to beat Morang XI 2-0 in the final to clinch the ninth Falgunanda Gold Cup football tournament in Phidim on Sunday. Tirtha Bansnet and Suraj Sunuwar scored in the second half which saw Fifa referee Laba Khatri officiate his last match.
Basnet broke the deadlock in the 67th minute and Sunuwar added the another four minutes from time. Sunsari won Rs 300,000 and Morang got Rs 200,000. Sunsari’s Hemanta Thapa Magar won the the best player award and his teammate Tirtha Basnet the highest scorer award. (PR)
