Prithivi Malla claimed the title of Pepsi Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.
Malla prevailed over Bijay Bahadur Shrestha on count back after they finished with 37 points each in the event played under stableford ¾ handicap format. Malla had earned 11 on the last six holes against nine of his closest competitor.
Malla, who scored 37 gross points, didn’t get that prize due to one player-one major prize rule.
The second best gross scorer Tashi Tshiring (35 points) won the gross award along with most birdies award. He had four birdies to his name. Rekha Ghimire won the ladies category with 32 points. (PR)
