Taplejung made a winning start to the Pathivara Gold Cup football tournament by beating Red Horse Club of Ilam 3-0 on the inaugural day match in Taplejung on Sunday.
Krish Rai broke the deadlock in the 67th minute before Sunil Nalbo doubled the scores in the 81st minute. Mukesh Limbu sealed the emphatic victory scoring the third in the dying moments of the game.
Armed Police Force (APF) of Eastern Region will take on Karna Singh Sonam of Taplejung on Tuesday.
The champions of the nine-day tournament will earn Rs 211,000 and the runners-up will receive Rs 111,000. (PR)
