Prerana Koirala and Samrakshyak Bhusan Bajracharya clinched the Under-16 singles titles of the ANLTA-JTI National Junior Tennis Championships on Saturday.

Koirala eased past Saloni Tamang 6-1, 6-3 in the girls’ U-16 singles title showdown. It was the second singles title for Koirala, who had already secured the U-14 title with victory over the same opponent.

Bajracharya, however, won the U-16 boys’ singles title after his opponent Pranav Khanal retired hurt with the match evenly poised at one set apiece. Khanal had won the first set 6-1 and Bajracharya levelled the match winning the second set 6-3 before Khanal called it quits. 

Among the other winners in the tournament include Boris Adhikari in U-8 boys and Samridhhi Maharjan in U-8 girls, Ayush Man Ghale in U-9 boys and Prasamsha Moktan in U-9 girls, Arav Samrat Hada in U-10 boys and Prasamsha in U-10 girls, Aryan Giri in U-12 boys and Rayana Shah in U-12 girls, Samyak Bhusan Bajracharya in U-14 boys and Mayanka Rana in U-18 girls’ events.
