In all, 33 professional golfers will battle it out for the top prize of Rs 110,000 in the seventh event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2016-17.
The tournament will be played over 72 holes in four days with top 21 pros and ties will make the cut for the final two rounds.
Apart from the top prize, the runner-up will earn Rs 70,000 and the third-placed golfer will take home Rs 50,000 in the tournament that offers Rs 600,000 as prize money.
In fact, all the golfers to make the cut are assured their share of cash rewards. Seven amateur golfers will also rub shoulders with the pros.
Top ranked golfer Shivaram Shrestha, Rabi Khadka, Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Rame Thapa and Sanjay Lama are some of the golfers who are the early favourites.
Tanka Bahadur Karki and Mithun Rai are among the top draw in the amateur category.
Nepal Professional Golfers Association (NPGA) president Rabindra Man Shrestha said: “We have had a great season this year so far. The performance in each tournament has been very exciting.”
