The sixth Mr Himalayan Open Bodybuilding Championship and first Men’s Fitness and Women’s Athletic Physique is scheduled to be held on Friday and Saturday.
Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (NBFA), the organisers, informed that the bodybuilding event will comprise of six weight categories: 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and over-75kg. The prejudging round will be held on the first day with the five best bodybuilders from each weight categories to make it to Saturday’s final round, said the NBFA President Rajesh Babu Shrestha during a press meet on Wednesday.
Top three bodybuilders from each category will earn Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. The winners of five weight divisions will then compete for Mr Himalaya title that offers Rs 250,000 to the eventual champion. The biennial event will also serve as the qualifiers for 51st Asian Bodybuilding Championship in South Korea in September and ninth World Bodybuilding Championship in Mongolia in November.
Men’s Fitness and Women’s Athletic Physique event was added for the first time by the organisers. Body figures, pose, confidence level and overal style will be key to determine the winner in the men’s fitness event, while muscularity and post among others will be key to determine the champion in the women’s athletic physique.
