Defending champions India Railways and Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club began with victory inthe Prime Minister Cup Women’s Volleyball Tournament here on Saturday.
Railways defeated winners of the first edition Nepal Police Club 25-12, 25-16, 25-14 and last year’s runners-up APF eased to a 25-17, 25-5, 25-6 victory over Barshat Association Club.
A total of six teams, including two from India, are participating in the tournament that offers a cash prize of Rs 111,000 to the champions. The first and second runners-up will get Rs 55,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively. (PR)
