Virat Kohli became the first batsman in test history to smash a double-hundred in four successive series as India piled up 620 for six at tea on the second day of their one-off test against Bangladesh on Friday.
Arguably the best batsman of his generation, the 28-year-old Kohli scored a sparkling 204 that follows his double centuries against West Indies, New Zealand and England in the last seven months.
Five out of India's top six batsmen registered 80-plus scores TO help India become the first team to post 600-plus totals in three consecutive tests.
Wriddhiman Saha was batting on 83 at the break with Ravindra Jadeja on 16 at the other end at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Kohli's fluent century on Thursday ensured he now has a hundred against each of the seven test teams he has faced and the 28-year-old right-hander looked unstoppable as he added 222 runs with Ajinkya Rahane.
After India resumed day two on 356-3, boundaries continued to flow from Kohli's bat, the most majestic of them being a glorious on-drive off Taskin Ahmed's bowling.
The India captain was not afraid to playing the cheeky shot either, guiding a short Taskin delivery over the gully fielder to the third man boundary.
Kohli reached 150 off 170 ball, ably supported by Rahane who returned from a finger injury to hit 82 before Mehedi Hasan took a brilliant diving catch at short cover off Taijul Islam to send him back.
Kohli was on 180 when he was adjudged leg-before to off-spinner Mehedi but the India captain reviewed the decision which was overturned after replays suggested the ball would have missed the stumps.
Kohli brought up his double hundred with his 24th boundary, a mishit over extra cover that raced to the fence, but fell leg before to Taijul (3-121) attempting a late cut.
Replays suggested the impact was outside the stumps but Kohli chose not to review the decision.
It was Kohli's fifth consecutive hundred which he converted into a 150-plus score.
Ravichandran Ashwin made 34 before falling to Mehedi but Saha stayed on course for his second test hundred.
