Tamang, Shrestha set title showdown

Tamang beat Price Dahal of Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club 21-10, 21-14 and Shrestha saw off Gautam Kathayat of Nepal Police Club (NPC) 21-13, 21-14 in the semi-finals.
Another Army club shuttler and sister of Ratnajit, Nangsal Devi set up the women’s singles championship match against Sikshya Shrestha of APF, Nangsal dispatched her teammate Anumaya Rai 21-13, 21-10 while Sikshya got the better of Megha Chand of TAC 21-6, 21-18 in the semi-finals.
Prafulla Maharjan of TAC clinched the Boys’ U-17 singles title with a 12-21, 25-23, 21-17 win over Prince Dahal of APF. Tamang siblings Nangsal and Ratnajit also claimed the mixed doubles title with a 21-16, 21-13 win over APF duo Indra Bahadur Mahata and Puja Shrestha. Entering the men’s doubles final were Army’s Ratnajit and Nabin as well as APF’s Bijit Thapa Magar and Bishal Pradhan.
New Diamond, APF enter final
KATHMANDU: Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club and New Diamond Academy set the title clash of the fourth APF National Open Women’s Volleyball Championship on Wednesday. APF beat Western Regional Volleyball Association 25-14, 25-10, 25-12 and New Diamond rallied from the first set debacle to defeat Nepal Police Club 19-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-13. (PR)
