Narendralal Shrestha has been elected as president of All Nepal Football Association in an election held on Monday.
Shrestha obtained five votes more than his competitor Karma Tshering Sherpa to become Anfa president. Shrestha received 36 votes while Sherpa secured 31 votes.
Likewise, Mani Kunwar has been elected as Anfa’s vice president. Kunwar defeated his contenders Deepak Khati and Upendra Man Singh to become Vice-Chairperson of the new committee. Kunwar obtained 34 votes against 25 of Khati and eight of Singh in the race.
The election was held today for the new leadership after long-serving ANFA President Ganesh Thapa was suspended for 10 years on a corruption case.
