All India Women’s Twenty20 Cricket Association (AWTCA) registered their second consecutive victory easing past Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club by 89 runs inAll India Women’s Twenty20 Cricket Association (AWTCA) registered their second consecutive victory easing past Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club by 89 runs in a one-day match of the first Indo-Nepal Women Cricket Tournament on Tuesday.
Held at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds, half centuries from Babita Meena and Pooja Nimavat lifted AWTCA to 231 all out in 48.2 overs. APF, who had elected to field first, were dismissed for 142 in 34.1 overs with Sita Rana Magar salvaging some pride.
Shivpriya Pandey did the damage for APF, a side boasting national women’s team players, picking up 5-35 from her 10-over spell. Opener Magar struck a gritty half century, making 59 off 65 deliveries that included eight boundaries. Binu Budha Magar (13) was the next best scorer for the national champions.
Earlier, Meena made a composed 56 off 77 balls. Nimavat went on to score her second consecutive half century of the tournament chipping in 50 off 64. Both the top scorers hit five boundaries each. Nimavat also starred with the ball picking up 2-15 from four overs.
Nimavata had also struck a half century against hosts Rising Cricket For Women (RCW) in tournament’s first game on Monday. Pandey also contributed with the bat making a run-a-ball 26 with four boundaries.
Skipper Rubina Chhetry was the pick of the APF bowlers, snapping up 4-38 from 7.2 overs. Karuna Bhandari (3-41) and Magar (2-37) also shared five wickets between them.
On Wednesday, APF Club will take on RCW in another 50-over game. The hosts will then take on AWTCA in two Twenty20 matches.
