Nepal crashed out from the league stage of the Saff Championship losing 4-1 to hosts India in their last Group 'A' match at the Trivandrum International Stadium on Sunday.
Needing a clear cut win to qualify for the semi-finals, Nepal had a bright start when Bimal Gharti Magar scored in the third minute of the match but India hit back with two goals from Chhangte Lallianzuala and one each from Rowlin Borges and Sunil Chhetri.
Winless Nepal finished at the bottom of the three-team pool, while India qualified as group winners with six points from two matches. Sri Lanka followed the hosts as runners-up. Afghanistan and Maldives have already qualified from Group 'B'.
