Bangladesh has won the AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship final defeating Nepal 1-0 at Army Physical Fitness and Sports Centre in Lagankhel.
All Nepal Football Association hosted the final that was halted due to the April 25 Great Quake. The final was scheduled for a 2:00pm kick off at the Dashrath Stadium on April 25 before it had to be called off due to the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck at 11:56am.
A total of seven teams—also including, India, Bhutan, Maldives, Iran and Sri Lanka—had participated in the tournament.
In their route to the final, Nepal had defeated India with Bangladesh overcoming Iran.
