Sunil Bal, Hemant Thapa Magar and Dinesh Rajbanshi scored for Far West who made it to the quarter-finals after eliminating Nepal Armed Police Force Club earlier in the tournament.
After a goalless first half, substitute Bal gave Far West the lead in the 62nd minute. Bal slammed a powerfully taken shot into the net just three minutes after entering the field. Thapa Magar doubled the lead in the 82nd minute as the forward ran from 30 yards out with the ball before shooting past Aldershot custodian James.
Rajbanshi sealed the match for good adding the third goal three minutes from time. Rajbanshi’s shot from edge of the area found the back of the net. Far West will take on the winner of the match between Manang Marshyangdi Club and Tribhuvan Army Club.
“After a lacklustre first half, our players found their feet and were able to score goals,” said Far West coach Kiran Shrestha. His Aldershot
counterpart Mark was happy with his side’s disciplined approach to the game despite the defeat. “Some missed opportunities also did not help our cause,” said the Aldershot coach.
Jhapa XI will take on Three Star Club in another quarter-final match on Tuesday.
