AFC slaps Anfa with $2000 fine
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has slapped the All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) a fine of $2000 for fielding overage players in the AFC U-16 Championship held in Bangkok, ThailandAFC’s disciplinary committee on November 28 had submitted 39 cases that had violated its rules and the region’s governing body of football disclosed the list on Saturday. The information in the AFC’s website says in pursuant of Article 70 of the AFC disciplinary code, “ANFA is fined $ 2,000 for violating Article 22.2 of the AFC U-16 Championship 2014 regulations read together with Article 55.1 of the code in the matches against Uzbekistan and DPR Korea.”
It also added that Uzbekistan and DPR Korea have been adjudged the winning teams. Nepal had held defending champions Uzbekistan to 1-1 draw, defeated Kuwait 2-1 before crashing out of the championship with a 4-0 loss against DPR Korea in their last Group C match. AFC has also ordered Anfa to settle the fine within 30 days of receiving the letter.
The same disciplinary committee has also suspended Deepak Bhusal of Manang Marshyangdi Club for three matches for a misconduct against opponents in their AFC President’s Cup final stage match against HTTU of Turkmenistan in September.
