NPC dominate in the hurdles event

Birendra completed the men’s 110m hurdles in 16.5 seconds while Tribhuvan Army Club grabbed the remaining two spots with Yogendra Lama (16.9 seconds) and Padam Karki (17.5 seconds). Keshari captured the pole position in the women’s 100m hurdles in 16.7 seconds while Sabita Chaudhary the Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF), who had set a new national record in 400m hurdles a day ago, completed the distance in 17.9 seconds to take the second spot. Santa Chaudhary of NPC came third with the timing of 19.0 seconds.
Keshari won her second gold of the day when she leaped 5.24 metres in the women’s long jump while Dilli Khatri of Army claimed the men’s long jump title with a successful jump of 6.56 metres. Olympian Tilak Ram Tharu of NPC won the 400m race in 48.9 seconds, finishing ahead of Armyman Dashi Ram Chaudhary (51.5) and Binod Gurung (52.9 seconds) of Western Region.
APF won the women’s 400m race with Dilmaya Karki completed the race in 60.0 seconds. Dilmaya finished first ahead of Durga Devkota (64.0) of the Army Club and Anita Thapa (66.8) of Central Region. Chandra Kala Ladhghare of NPC produced a 9.25-metre effort to clinch gold in the women’s shot put. Armyman Rajendra Basnet covered a distance of 9.25 metres to win the men’s shot put gold.
Similarly, APF emerged winner in the women’s 4x100m relay followed by NPC and the Army club. In the men’s 4x100m relay the Army club took the gold.
