Motorcycle hit kills cyclist in Bardiya

A 50-year-old woman died after being hit by a motorcycle near Krishna Temple in ward 1 of Thakurbaba Municipality along the East-West Highway.
The accident occurred when a motorcycle, driven by 32-year-old Arjun Karki of Surkhet, struck the cyclist, identified as Moti Tharu. She sustained severe head injuries.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rishiram Gharti Magar, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Bardiya, Tharu died during treatment at the District Hospital, Gulariya.
Police have taken the motorcyclist into custody for investigation.
