Police on Saturday arrested a man on charge of murdering his wife in Rolpa.

Thirty-two-year-old Bhim Bahadur Budha was taken into police custody from ward 1 of Madi Rural Municipality allegedly for murdering his wife Man Kumari, 28, on Friday.

According to the police, Budha had attacked the victim on the neck with a knife-like sharp object in their residence at around 3pm on Friday.

Man Kumari died of excessive bleeding shortly after the attack, police said.

The couple have two children, aged 12 and five. Locals say that the duo had constantly been quarrelling leading up to the day of the incident.

As per locals, the accused had been drinking heavily on the day of the incident. He was inebriated at the time of arrest also, police said.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
