In an apparent case of suicide, Assistant Head Constable of the Armed Police Force Basanta KC shot himself dead on Sunday night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushpa Raj Malla, chief of Tulsipur Area Police Office, said 35-year-old KC of Tulsipur-8 shot himself with a gun he was carrying while on duty in a prison.

Malla said the incident is being further investigated.
