Man dies in elephant attack

A 56-year-old man from ward 6 of Manahari Rural Municipality died in an elephant attack in the forest area of the Chitwan National Park in the same ward on Tuesday evening.
According to the Makawanpur District Police Office, the authorities got information about the incident only on Friday.
There were three men grazing their cattle in the nearby forest, where they were attacked by a wild elephant. Two of the cowherds managed to flee, but one was killed on the spot.
In the current fiscal year, four people have died and five were injured in different elephant attacks in Makawanpur, said police.
