A ward member died in a road accident in Madi of Chitwan on Saturday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bijay Raj Pandit, spokesperson of Chitwan police, said the deceased is 60-year-old Jeevan Luitel, a ward member of Madi Municipality-2.

Luitel died after a motorcycle he was riding was hit by a vehicle, which couldn’t be immediately identified, at Madi Municipality-1 at around 6 pm.

Police said they are searching for the vehicle and the driver.
