Nepali Congress wins one Kathmandu seat, maintains lead in four constituencies

The Nepali Congress has won one seat and is leading in four out of the remaining nine constituencies of Kathmandu district as of Tuesday morning.

The Congress is leading in Kathmandu-3, 4, 5 and 10. The candidates of Rastriya Swatantra Party are ahead in Kathmandu-2, 6 and 8. The UML is leading in Kathmandu-9 and 7.
In Kathmandu-1, Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh got re-elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-1. Singh defeated his closest rival Rabindra Mishra of Rastriya Prajatantra Party by a margin of 125 votes. Singh received 7,143 votes, while Mishra got 7,018 votes. Singh had defeated Mishra also in the earlier polls.
In Kathmandu-2, Sobita Gautam of Rastriya Swatantra Party is leading against Kanti Devi Pokharel of Rastriya Prajatantra Party. Gautam has received 3,954 votes so far as Pokharel has garnered 3,024 votes.
Santosh Chalise of the Congress has maintained his lead in Kathmandu-3 with 4,510 votes. He is followed by Krishna Bahadur Rai of UML with 3,213 votes.
As per the latest update from Kathmandu-4, Gagan Kumar Thapa of the Nepali Congress has maintained a lead of over 4,000 votes. Thapa has received 15,236. Rajan Bhattarai of UML is placed second with 10,946 votes.
In Kathmandu-5, Pradip Poudel of Congress is leading receiving 2,631 votes as Ishwor Pokhrel of UML is second with 1,888 votes.
Shishir Khanal of Rastriya Swatantra Party has maintained his lead in Kathmandu-6. Khanal has got 2,079 votes as per the latest update. He is followed by Bhimsen Das Pradhan of Congress with 1,412 votes.
In Kathmandu-7, Shyam Kumar Ghimire of UML is leading receiving 2,193 votes as Ganesh Parajuli of Rastriya Swatantra Party is second with 2,143 votes.
Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of Rastriya Swatantra Party is first in the election race in Kathmandu-8. He has so far received 5,286 votes. Suman Sayami of the Hamro Nepali Party is second with 4,254 votes.
In Kathmandu-9, Krishna Gopal Shrestha of UML is leading the vote count garnering 9,449 votes. He is followed by Tek Bahadur Pokheral of Rastriya Swatantra Party with 8,278 votes.
Rajendra Kumar KC of Congress continues to lead in Kathmandu-10 with 4,801 votes. He is followed by Pradip Bista of the Rastriya Swatantra Party with 3,378 votes.
