Siraha
Five people, including Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal candidate for Siraha–3 Asheshwar Yadav, were arrested with cash during the election silence period.
Police said a joint security check at Shiva Chowk in Siraha headquarters uncovered Rs487,000 in the Scorpio vehicle Yadav was travelling in.
Authorities will complete legal procedures and forward the case to the Office of the Returning Officer for further action, said Superintendent of Police Basudev Pathak, chief of the District Police Office, Siraha.
