Police on Tuesday arrested a woman from Birgunj on charge of murdering her son.
On August 12, 2023, Aarati Kumari of Birgunj Metropolitan City-27 allegedly strangled her five-month-old baby to death while alone at home.
The 22-year-old had been on the run and was hiding in East Champaran of Bihar, India, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the accused was taken into police custody from ward 13 of Birgunj Metropolitan at around 3 pm on Tuesday.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Kumar Bikram Thapa.
