Amarkanta Chaudhary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been elected from Saptari-3 in the House of Representatives elections.
Chaudhary defeated Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal chair Upendra Yadav by a margin of more than 17,000 votes.
Chaudhary secured 32,875 votes, while Yadav received 15,239 votes.
Dinesh Kumar Gupta of Nepali Congress obtained 8,424 votes, and Tarakanta Chaudhary of CPN-UML received 6,715 votes.
