Police on Thursday arrested a man from Ward 1 of Meringden Rural Municipality in Taplejung district on the charge of killing his father.
According to the Police Suman Okhrabu Limbu, aged 32, allegedly hacked his father Shyam Okhrabu Limbu, aged 52, to death following a family dispute. The victim died on the spot.
Detailed investigation is underway into the case, said police.
