Passenger bus plunges into Koshi river, all rescued

A passenger bus swerved off the Koshi barrage bridge and plunged into the Koshi river on Thursday.
The bus with registration number Ko 1 Kha 4601 fell into the river on the Saptari side of the bridge along the East-West Highway. According to the District Police Office in Saptari, all 20 people on board were rescued safely.
The bus was heading to Gaighat of Udayapur district from Biratnagar. The bus lost its control and fell into the river, said police. The Area Police Office in Bhardaha took the driver under control for investigation.
Meanwhile, a landslide swept away a car near Galchhi along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading district on Thursday. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilliraj Pandey, four people travelling in the car were injured in the incident. A bus with an Indian registration number sustained minor damage in the incident.
Transportation has been disrupted due to the landslide. Efforts are on to clear the landslide debris and resume transportation, said police.
