A 49-year-old labourer was killed when a stone fell on ‘Audit 2’ of the 900 MW Arun III Hydropower Project in Makalu-5, Sankhuwasabha.

The deceased has been identified as Tulsiram Tharu of Thakurbaba-9, Bardiya.

Ghanshyam Shrestha, deputy superintendent of police, informed that Tharu breathed his last at around 1:30 am on Monday while undergoing the treatment received from the stone hit.

Tharu was working on the maintenance of the road.
