Fire destroys three tents in Bhutanese refugee camp in Jhapa

A fire started from tent no. 535 in Sector C4 of the Bhutanese refugee camp in Jhapa, located in ward 3 of Damak Municipality of Bhim Bahadur Ghimire destroyed two other tents in the camp on Friday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the fire started at 3 am and was caused by an electrical short circuit. It took an hour and a half for the fire brigade, security personnel, and locals to douse the fire.
There were no human casualties. It has been estimated that property worth around Rs500,000 was damaged in the fire, said police.
