Indian national held with pistol, ammunition and drugs at Sunsari border

The Armed Police Force Nepal (APF) arrested an Indian national from Koshi-3, Jamuwa, a border point in Sunsari district, in possession of a pistol, ammunition, and illegal drugs.
Superintendent of Police, Shyam Kumar Karki, of Armed Police Force Battalion-4 in Sunsari, said that Ram Thelan Paswan, 36, of Araria district, was detained by an APF team from the Shreepur Border Outpost at Jamuwa, near the Nepal-India border.
Security personnel recovered one pistol, three rounds of ammunition and brown sugar from his possession during the operation, Karki said.
Police stated that security checks along the frontier have been tightened in view of the upcoming elections, with increased monitoring aimed at preventing cross-border movement of weapons, narcotics and other illegal activities.
