An unknown group of people holding black flags pelted stones at the vehicle of Chief Minister Kedar Karki of Koshi Province at the Sagarmatha petrol pump in Damak, Jhapa, on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to the police, a group unhappy with the naming of Province 1 to Koshi Province threw stones at the vehicle. 

Karki was attending a drug control programme in Jhapa. 

The vehicle in which Karki was travelling suffered damage, but no one was harmed. The group fled the scene after Karki’s security detail arrived, according to police.
