Biratnagar Metropolis officials acquitted in graft case

On Thursday, the special court acquitted all the accused, including Indira Karki, former mayor, Ekdev Adhikari, former chief administrative officer, and Gopal Pokhrel, engineer of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, in a corruption case.
A case was filed against them by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority one and a half years ago for embezzling Rs 1.5 million during the construction of a pond in Biratnagar-15.
Karki, who was preparing to run for the last provincial assembly election, was stopped from participating, and Adhikari was immediately suspended after the complaint was registered.
