On Wednesday, 177 doctors of the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences submitted their resignation letters to Health Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet of the Ministry of Health and Population.

The doctors submitted a memorandum to Minister Basnet on Tuesday, complaining that the institute has been stopping the promotion of non-medical staff for 15 years and doctors for about seven years.

More than 50 doctors have left the institute in the last two years, and the lack of professor-level doctors in various departments of the institute has also affected the medical study, according to doctors.
