Landslides and incessant rainfalls since Saturday night have blocked various roadways in some Koshi districts.

Floods in Maiwakhola swept away some seven metres of the Meringding-Triveni road section in Meringding Rural Municipality-3 and Triveni Rural Municipality-5 obstructing two-way traffic movement.

Similarly, continuous rainfall in the last 12 hours in Sunsari has caused roadblocks in Barahakshetra Municipality-1. Roads in some local units of Ilam and Chhathar Rural Municipality in Tehrathum and the Sidhuwa-Sukrabare remain obstructed due to mudslides.

Security personnel and locals are making efforts to clear the roads and resume traffic, police said.

The pillars of a bridge over the Biring River along the Khuduwabari-Sanishchare road section have also been damaged by floods in the river.
