A person died in a road accident in Dhankuta Municipality-9 on Thursday evening. One other was injured.

Sixty-year-old Nar Bahadur Rai was injured seriously after the motorcycle he was riding pillion on met with the accident at around 8:45pm, police said.

Rai was rushed to the district hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Motorcycle rider Purna Bahadur Katuwal, who also sustained serious injuries in the accident, is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

According to the police, the duo were heading home to Chhintang from Dhankuta.

Police suspect that the rider lost control of the two-wheeler as the road had become slippery due to rainfall.
