One dead, another injured in Jhapa elephant attack

An elderly woman died after being attacked by an elephant in Jhapa. One other was injured.
Eighty-year-old Pannadevi Sah was killed in the incident that took place early on Monday, police said.
The Mechinagar Municipality-10 local had stepped out of her home at 5am for prayers when she was attacked by the pachyderm. She died on the spot.
Likewise, Bridhashanti Rural Municipality-5 local Kamala Dhimal has been admitted to the Birta City Hospital after sustaining injuries during the attack.
The 38-year-old was attacked by the same animal after it had attacked Sah, police said.
