The counting of votes cast in the federal polls has been halted in Sunsari-4 after representatives of Nepali Congress’ candidate Gyanendra Bahadur Karki claimed that votes were rigged.
The counting was stopped from 2pm on Saturday after the representatives registered a complaint before the office of the election officer claiming 606 votes received by the party were added to the vote numbers garnered by the CPN-UML.
Karki was leading by 12 votes receiving 21,445 by the time the counting was stalled. Jagdish Prasad Kusiyait of UML has garnered 21,433 votes
