CPN (Maoist Centre)’s candidate Ram Kumar Rai has been elected the House of Representatives member from Khotang.
As per the final results, Rai defeated CPN-UML’s politburo member Bishal Bhattarai by a margin of 2,669 votes.
Rai garnered 31,351 votes against Bhattarai who received 28,682 votes, according to the Election Commission.
Bhattarai, who was elected from the constituency in the 2017 polls, had worked as the Chief Whip of UML’s Parliamentary Party.
