Police say no complaint has been filed and the situation was calm when officers reached the site.Post Report
Gen Z activist Miraj Dhungana said his Kathmandu office came under attack on Wednesday evening.
Dhungana wrote on Facebook that the incident took place at about six in the evening, claiming an unidentified group entered the office and mistreated female members present there.
Dhungana’s team said they have asked security agencies to take action as details of the incident and the identity of the attackers remain unclear.
Police said no complaint has been filed. Superintendent of Police Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Range, said a man named Jagat had called from Dhungana’s office at around five on Wednesday, asking for security during what was described as a dispute.
Bhattarai said personnel were deployed, but officers found the situation calm. He said those at the office told police it was a minor dispute they would resolve themselves. Dhungana has not lodged any verbal or written complaint about an attack, he added.
Only on October 18, a group of Gen Z youths led by Miraj Dhungana announced to form a new party. Dhungana, however, said the party will not participate in the elections until the demand for a directly elected prime minister is met.
